The sky in 2027

Quadrantid meteor shower 2027

Up to 110 meteors an hour under dark skies, best after midnight.

Peaks on Sunday 3 January at 8:00 am UTC.

How to see it

  • Best after midnight, on the night of the peak and the nights either side.
  • Meteors seem to come from the north-northeast, but they can appear anywhere in the sky.
  • The moon is not full that week, so a dark spot away from lights will show the most.
