Lyrid meteor shower 2027
Up to 18 meteors an hour under dark skies, best after midnight.
Peaks on Thursday 22 April at 6:00 am UTC.
How to see it
- Best after midnight, on the night of the peak and the nights either side.
- Meteors seem to come from the northeast, but they can appear anywhere in the sky.
- A bright moon is up that week, so only the brighter meteors will show. Keep the moon behind you.
