Perseid meteor shower 2026

Up to 100 meteors an hour under dark skies, best after midnight.

Peaks on Wednesday 12 August at 8:00 pm UTC.

How to see it

  • Best after midnight, on the night of the peak and the nights either side.
  • Meteors seem to come from the northeast, but they can appear anywhere in the sky.
  • The moon is not full that week, so a dark spot away from lights will show the most.
