Eta Aquariid meteor shower 2026

Up to 50 meteors an hour under dark skies, best before dawn.

Peaks on Wednesday 6 May at 8:00 am UTC.

How to see it

  • Best before dawn, on the night of the peak and the nights either side.
  • Meteors seem to come from the east-southeast, but they can appear anywhere in the sky.
  • The moon is not full that week, so a dark spot away from lights will show the most.
